Senior Technical Product Management - Advanced Product Group

Locus Robotics is a leader in the rapidly growing eCommerce order fulfillment optimization space. Our solution helps warehouse owners attain 2-3X efficiency improvement over cart-picking operations, by empowering pickers to work collaboratively with our robots. All this is accomplished while integrating with the operator’s Warehouse Management System, utilizing and optimizing existing facility infrastructure.

Locus Robotics is seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager to drive product strategy and execution for its Advanced Product Group (APG) . APG is a forward-thinking cross-functional group that uses emerging technologies to evaluate and develop products with 2–4-year roadmaps.

This onsite role is based in our Nashua, NH office, with travel to corporate headquarters in Wilmington, MA, as required.

This position calls for an innovative and experienced product leader with a track record for driving new product capabilities from initial concept to successful delivery and market leadership. The Senior Product Manager regularly communicates with internal stakeholders at all levels to help identify the most promising opportunities, develop winning strategies, and ensure customer success all while managing competing priorities. You will have the capabilities and drive to be successful with both strategic and tactical initiatives. 

The Senior Product Manager will become a key member of the team with many direct touch points with our Customers, Sales, Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Engineering, Operations, and Leadership teams. The ideal candidate would have deep global product management experience bringing new technology-based solutions to market within a flexible and high growth startup company, preferably within the warehousing and order fulfillment. The person would possess the ability to do what needs to be done today while building the processes and product / service capabilities for the future.

Job Description

  • Manage your assigned portfolio’s entire lifecycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
  • Play a key role in managing development roadmaps and collaborate with Product Marketing, Sales and Customer Success stakeholders to communicate the external product roadmap.
  • Develop requirements, specifications, and release plans. Demonstrate a customer-driven mindset by participating frequently in customer conversations and ensuring ongoing customer feedback and validation.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to cross functional teams consisting of Marketing, Sales, Sales Engineering, Engineering, Customer Success, Operations, and Partners to advance new product concepts and advance all aspects of assigned portfolio.
  • Document and present business cases to justify new product developments based on product marketing’s input on market analysis, market/customer requirements, market positioning, customer value proposition, revenue potential, profitability analysis, and product launch plans.
  • Manage the development of accessories critical to the successful customer use of the Locus solution.
  • Assist with customer support and issue resolution.
  • Act as a domain and product expert at customer interactions, both face to face and online.
  • Keep current on industry trends and changing market and/or regulatory requirements, and competitive products relative to assigned product lines.
  • Analyze competitive products and develop competitive comparisons.
  • Aid in the development of training materials and product positioning.
  • Participate in partner projects as necessary to enhance technical understanding and influence evolution of products and solutions to better serve joint customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Advanced degree a plus.
  • 7+ years of successful global product management experience in a high growth / startup environment.
  • Relevant industry experience in Logistics, eCommerce, Material Handling, Automation, or Robotics.
  • Demonstrated success product managing engineer-to-order and configure-to-order products.
  • Proven ability to set a vision and lead cross-functional technology teams and broader stakeholders.
  • Excellent communicator with ability to influence and persuade across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in English written, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong business analytics, relationship management, strategy development.
  • Ability to make complex decisions in a fast-paced environment.
